I had the pleasure of meeting Sarel, CEO of Sablecape, in April 2020, the second month of South Africa’s Covid 19 induced lock downs. I found him to be a man of honour and integrity and very passionate about property, more specifically addressing the human settlements imbalance in South Africa, through his affordable housing solutions. REimagine Social Impact Property Fund had just moved from conceptualisation to execution and was on a search for Development partners and a perfect match was created when I met Sarel. We spent the subsequent 9 months meeting every week for 3 hours and my first impressions were confirmed by his deep knowledge of property, passion for what he does and the respect and empathy he has towards his Sablecape family. A measure of a true leader. It is a pleasure and privilege to know Sarel and I look forward to making a social impact with our housing solutions over the next decades.

Sarel played a major role in successfully completing 4000 apartments in The Gardens as well as the Palm Island – Jumeira with Nakheel Group, UAE. His work ethic and professionalism are of the highest standard, and we became lifetime friends during his time at Nakheel.
